![]() I want to understand what the 7600X CPU actually supports because AMD, unlike Intel, has pathetic documentation on that, playing some secretive marketing nonsense where only "AMD partners" can have access to a technical white paper on AMD's CPUs, including the 7000s series.Īnd regarding that, I have got two conflicting results from a couple of methods described in the root comment, and now, with your suggestion, a third result, which is even more confusing. Not sure what is unclear about my intent, I am not catching on with the meta XY metaphors. Then how does this explain that LeoMoon's CPU-v utility detects SVM just fine (green checkmarks), as well as LDPlayer 9, which requires virtualization active to run? (Though it should not be the case since VirtualBox is a type 2 hypervisor, which should not cause any issues when it is not actually running.) Especially since I want to use Virtual Box, LDPlayer 9 (Android emulator) etc.īut even though my Windows 11 is a native bootable system, it is not ran within Virtual Box, maybe the very fact that is installed is detected as the presence of a hypervisor, it is just not MS' Hyper-V. So in my root post "active" is what the context is saying, it just means it is not greyed out, and nothing more, I am not running it (I have added a clarification, thanks). ![]() I just checked Windows Features list again, and there the whole "Hyper-V" group is UNchecked, as well as all subgroups, including "Platform Hyper-V". I was trying to search for this, but so far could not find information on how to enable the latter two features, if they exist. So, is LeoMoon's CPU-V utility is wrong? Or the method in the video is wrong?Īlso, I found no other ways to check for "VM Monitor Mode Extensions" in my CPU. No mention if it came to Ryzen's 7000s series or not. I found that AMD renamed SLAT into RVI, Rapid Virtualization Indexing, and that it was introduced in an old Opteron CPU. In my case, it is not greyed out, it is active ( EDIT: actionable, but not enabled, not running). I found a video by MDTechVideos on YouTube that claims that a way to check if a system supports SLAT is to see whether specifically Hyper-V platform in Windows Features dialogue is greyed out or not. However, when I run LeoMoon's CPU-V utility (on Windows 11), it shows that AMD-v supported and enabled, two green checkmarks, and also Data Execution Prevention (DEP) being detected, but not Second Level Address Translation (SLAT) and VM Monitor Mode Extensions. I have got a new PC with Ryzen 7600X CPU with SVM enabled in BIOS.
